The Fall of Single Feather...

Expecting

It's kind of sickenining when you have too high expectations of yourself. You never seem to do anything that is good enough. You never really feel proud of your work. You constantly ask for more.

From another perspective, you can say that its being ambitious. At the very least, you will have a goal.

Expectations constantly increases too. For a time I might have a simpler goal. Just as I am about to reach it, I would set a higher one for myself. The time I can fulfill my expectations is when I underestimate, or am unclear of what is going to happen.

But it's not a bad thing if you do not need the product to keep you motivated. The process of pushing and learning and improving seems to be more crucial than what you get in the end. Others can judge if its good for all I care.

I just want to reach my goal. And do even more.

With regards,

Advicing

I do not like to give advice. When someone follows your advice and someway or another ends up in trouble, it would make it appear as if it is your fault. So instead, I prefer to offer a new perspective.

Offering a new perspective, for example, would be me telling people what I would do if I were them. The things that would consider, the approach I would use. The sacrifices that would be made. From there, they can analyse if my point suits them, and act accordingly.

When people ask for advice, they are asking for help, for a solution. It is important that you do not suggest they follow your advice, but consider it as an option.

Besides, decisions should be made based on their own thoughts. That is how a person grow. By making mistakes, learning from them and generally not doing the same dumb thing again. If it worked, its not because they followed your advice but because your approach suits their style of work.

I hate giving people advice. It stops them from learning.

Blog

Ever since I got a smartphone I started to blog more on the bus than at home. In fact, I never wrote anything at home anymore.

I also started to write a little more. It felt pretty good too. Been a while since I wrote some kind of a story. At least it made a lot more sense.

Have fun.

People

In our lives, we are exposed to many different people. Some of them, we meet. Some of them, we don't. But sometimes, unless they are our friend - even if they are our friends, we fail to recognise that they are humans. As in, they have needs.

One classic example would be meeting a celebrity. We see them on TV all the time. Acting, moving, being different personas in different shows. If they didn't eat, we often wouldn't think that they need food at all.

Another example would be teachers. We often see teachers as someone superior and powerful. Almost as if they are an otherworldly being that has so much knowledge. But when you know a part of your teacher's personal life, it just seems weird.

It makes people so intolerable at times. Its makes them forget that they know other people who affects their lives the same way your loved ones do to you.

We forget that our boss needs to answer to their boss so that they can keep their jobs. They are not just the only ones doing it to you.

So please. Make their lives a little easier. It might just make yours easier too. They are still human after all.

Have fun.

The Fall of Single Feather...

"Some people are smart. Some people are intelligent. Some smart people are not very intelligent. Some intelligent people are not very smart. But the really clever ones are smart enough to know when to be intelligent and when to dumb down. And the best thing is....... we didn't need to go to school to learn this. :)"

This was what my teacher said on facebook.

And I was like, "I want to create a centre which can show people how to do this."

Have fun.

Habits

I have this... Thing where I refer certain types of people as older brothers and sisters. Perhaps its the way they dress, or maybe just the way they carry themselves.

It gets kind of weird as you get older, cause this habit doesn't really stop.

In the first year of polytechnic its still fine. There are mostly older sisters and brothers after all. But when you're a year 3 and you call them, "gor gor" and "jie jie" it gets sort of disturbing...

It's true. But I can't help it.

Yet anyway.

Have fun.
