The Fall of Single Feather...

Advicing

I do not like to give advice. When someone follows your advice and someway or another ends up in trouble, it would make it appear as if it is your fault. So instead, I prefer to offer a new perspective.

Offering a new perspective, for example, would be me telling people what I would do if I were them. The things that would consider, the approach I would use. The sacrifices that would be made. From there, they can analyse if my point suits them, and act accordingly.

When people ask for advice, they are asking for help, for a solution. It is important that you do not suggest they follow your advice, but consider it as an option.

Besides, decisions should be made based on their own thoughts. That is how a person grow. By making mistakes, learning from them and generally not doing the same dumb thing again. If it worked, its not because they followed your advice but because your approach suits their style of work.

I hate giving people advice. It stops them from learning.
